Janie Walker Writer / Photographer is an established professional based in Paraparaumu, Wellington. I produce art-work that reflects the essence of the day. I believe in building a strong relationship with the bride and groom, listening to their opinions and producing unique photography they will treasure forever. I love photographing the magic, the relationships, the sideways glances and nervous giggles. I get welcomed into peoples lives to witness events that they will want to remember for ever, and the responsibility is not lost on me – capturing the moment with as little fuss or intrusion as possible is key. Its a privilege to photograph weddings, they are truly magical events and a journalistic photographers dream. Since arriving in Wellington New Zealand in 2005 I have worked primarily as a portrait and wedding photographer. Photography has taken me all over the world where I have worked for a multitude of clients and have photographed everything from Architecture and Sports to Natural Disasters for International NGO’s. With first class honours degree in photography, several photographic awards to my name and over fifteen years shooting experience I still absolutely love what I do. I have been a professional photographer for my entire life. We will certainly seek Kumar out to photograph future events. His enthusiasm, professional attitude and clever editing of the portfolio were appreciated. They were particularly pleased with his ability to capture rapid motion (including boules in flight) and to capture both international and lower grade players in action.Īt a break in play Kumar assemble the competitors and took several group shots from a high angle to commemorate the day. We were proud to send out photos to individual players later next month and received thankful feedback. However his eye for a good picture and superior equipment gave us a photographic record of the days action that was superior to any recorded by the Wellington Petanque Association at previous events. His task was made difficult by him not being able to intrude on the playing area. Kumar photographed the action at our 'Swiss Doubles" petanque tourney, which drew entries from most clubs in the Wellington district.
